Dear Patients, Friends and Neighbors,

We hope that you and your family are in good health. Our team misses seeing your smiling faces in our office and taking care of your dental health. We all have been through a lot over the last few months. Although so many things have changed, one thing remains the same: our commitment to your safety.

Over the last two months, we have been following the directives of the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Dental Association® (ADA), the Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which only allowed us to see patients with severe dental emergencies.

Infection control has always been a top priority at our office. We have worked tirelessly to obtain proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and have invested in and implemented industry-leading safety measures and technologies in our office. We have installed a HEPA filtration and air scrubber purification system throughout the office.
We are spending the next two to three weeks procuring PPE and training our team on our new protocols. We will be gradually scheduling and prioritizing procedures to treat emergencies and urgent cases first. We have quite a backlog of patients who are desperately in need of dental care and we will be contacting you as soon as we can. Please be patient with us as we navigate through this challenging time. Know that we are committed to doing things the right way for your safety and the safety of our team.

We are confident that our new efforts coupled with our continued commitment to going above and beyond with infection control will make our office safer than most places you will visit in the community. As well as protecting you and your family, we are remaining vigilant in protecting our team members. Because our job inherently produces water droplet-spraying aerosols that can escape your mouth, dental professionals are at very high risk without the proper PPE to keep them safe from contracting the virus. Much of this equipment is in short supply and we are doing everything we can to obtain the new required PPE.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back to our office very soon. Please stay tuned for further specifics and details regarding some of the new protocols and improvements that we have made to our office for your safety.

Sincerely,

Your Dental Professionals and Friends at Lancaster Smiles
